REVIEW: Three of the best rounds of action from the 1990s in the Australian Touring Car Championship. The arrival of five-litre warfare in the Australian Touring Car Championship between Holden and Ford in the 1990s paved the way for what we now know as the V8 Supercars Championship. This release from Chevron re-lives some of the best races from the early years of the era, starting with the action-packed opener from the 1993 championship at Amaroo Park in Sydney. This was Mark Shaife’s debut in a Holden as well as the ATCC debut of former World Motorcycle Champion Wayne Gardner for the Holden Racing Team – and the levels of panel damage need to be seen to be believed.

Also included is Round 2 of the 1993 ATCC from Symmons Plains in Tasmania as the heat intensified between Skaife and former F1 World Champion Alan Jones. To round things out, also included is the start of one of the greatest careers seen in ATCC/V8 Supercars Championship history. A young 21-year-old named Craig Lowndes won on debut at Eastern Creek under lights in the opening round of the 1996 ATCC.
