REVIEW: The Mighty Maroons do it again! Kevin Walters enjoyed the perfect start to his origin coaching career, wrapping up the series at home in front of a packed Suncorp Stadium with a game to spare. The seemingly ageless Maroons making it 10 series wins from 11 years and ensuring Qld legend Corey Parker left the arena on top.

New South Wales went into Game 1 with everything to play for, blooding five debutants and looking to build a dynasty of their own. However, it was Queensland again that turned away wave after wave of Blues attacks. Darius Boyd was magnificent at the back, proving the perfect replacement for an injured Billy Slater and was unlucky to miss Man Of The Match honours

For Game 11, NSW were set an impossible task, travel to Suncorp Stadium and force a decider. Bit it was the Queenslanders wo were not to be denied, setting up the win in typical fashion, controlling most of the game and when they looked out on their feet , they found a way to win. Dane Gagai had a night to remember, grabbing a hat-trick of tries, becoming the first Queenslander since Matt Sing in 2003 to manage the feat at Origin level. When the game was there for the taking it was the two old heads of Thurston and Smith that had the ball on a string, guiding QLD around the park and ensuring the coveted Origin Shield remained firmly entrenched in Queensland territory for another year.
