REVIEW: Yet another in the Bear Family Records “Town Hall Party” series and there are more to come. As the title suggests this time we take a look at one of country music’s best loved performers, Marty Robbins, in a couple of rare appearances on the “Town Hall Party”. The majority of songs come from his February 21, 1959, appearance and as well as Marty’s performances there are performances from Tompall Glaser and The Glaser Brothers (who were backing Marty at the time) and Joe Hudgins. The other performance is taken from Marty’s appearance from October 3, 1959. As with all these “Town Hall Party” DVDs the footage is lifted from kinescopes taken at the time and whilst the quality is not perfect it is very watchable.
