REVIEW: Joe Maphis was a master of the double necked Mosrite guitar which was all the rage in the late 1950s. Larry Collins, of Collins Kids fame, also was quite astute at the Mosrite and regularly teamed up with Joe in both “live” performances and on record. As well as providing guitar backing for many country artists in the late 1950s and early 1960s Joe recorded a considerable number of instrumentals which were released under his own name. Joe was a regular on the “Town Hall Party” television show and this DVD comprises many of his performances he made on the show. Great vintage footage.
