FRANKIE AND THE FASHIONS FORMED IN 1963 IN LITTLE ITALY, WEST PHILLY. INSPIRED BY THE LIKES OF DION AND THE BELMONTS, THE CAPRIS, THE EARLS AND LITTLE ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS IT WAS COMMON FOR THE FASHIONS TO BE HEARD SINGING DOO WOP ON THE CORNER OF 49TH STREET. IN 1964 THEY RECORDED A SONG CALLED “FUNNY GIRL” WHICH WAS NEVER RELEASED DUE TO THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF THEIR MANAGER. THE GROUP WENT BACK TO DOING WHAT THEY LOVED BEST, HARMONIZING ON STREET CORNERS.
