REVIEW: Al Roberts (Tom Neal), a musician from New York, decides to rejoin his girl-friend in L.A. by hitch-hiking. In the middle of the Nevada desert, the last driver who’s taken him in his car dies of natural causes while sleeping. The panicking Al robs the car and the guy’s money and heads California. He offers Vera (Ann Savage), who also hitch-hikes, to drive her to California with him. Vera, who knew the real driver of the car, begins to blackmail the poor Al and threatens to call the police if he doesn’t obey her from now on.
