Dexter Munro and his new wife, Juliet, are honeymooning in the idyllic Mediterranean, but back at home their plans come under threat when their house-buying falls through. The possibility of having to live with the detestable thespian father-in-law, Sir Beverly Grant, is Dexter’s worst nightmare.
With no other choice for escape, the newlyweds purchase a rundown cottage in dire need of renovation, only to have Sir Beverly turn up on the doorstep with his suitcase, determined to help with the refurbishment. If his meddling wasn’t enough, Dexter must also deal with an incompetent builder and his skiffling workmates.
