He later changed his style to a more crooning style similar to that of Frank Sinatra who was his idol and secured several more hits with “Beyond The Sea”, “You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby”, “Multiplication”, “Mack The Knife” and his biggest hit of all “If I Were A Carpenter”. For swinging, finger-snapping vocalist Bobby Darin, the final curtain came in December 1973, when he was only 37 years old. A weak heart ended his life-and shut down a highly versatile career that shaped and energized popular music for almost two decades. This program brings Bobby back for an encore. It presents the full, pre-cut version of a live show he taped at NBC nine months before his death. His last recorded performance, the one-man show perfectly captures Darin’s freewheeling vocal range and improvisional style, if you are a Bobby Darin fan then you are sure to enjoy this performance.
