REVIEW: Whilst Gabriel Communications is always short on information in their DVD releases there is now doubting the quality and rarity of their releases. This 5 DVD set is a must for all true country music fans. It features 15 weekly country music shows all recorded “live” (no lip-syncing here) from the stage of the Grand Ole Opry on a Sunday afternoon featuring the cream of country music artists. The shows are totally different from the 10 volume series of live performances on the Grand Ole Opry released several years ago. Each show was presented each week by a different country artist who performs several songs and introduces other artists and also features segment of dancers clogging. For the most part the quality is excellent and in brilliant colour although there has been some minor deterioration here and there in the master tapes over the years. The complete track listing is far too long to list here but below we have listed each show and the artists featured on each one. A brilliant piece of country music history. *****
