REVIEW: Special Elvis double feature. The story of the early days of Elvis Presley and how he walked into the offices of The Memphis Recording Studio to make a private recording as a present for his mother.

This sixty minute video provides a unique in-depth view of the early days of Marion Keisker and Sam Phillips and focuses on how their careers coincided and the effect they had on the early days of the King. Also featured are many other characters and personalities who played their own parts in the early days of Elvis’s career including life-long friend George Klein together with Rufus Thomas, Wink Martindale, Chet Atkins, Bill Randle and his first boss at the Crown Electric Company, James Tipler. With the addition of exclusive location footage shot in Memphis, this video footage presents the definitive story of the Sun Days as recalled by those who were there. It is also the last time that Marion Keisker gave an interview in relation to this period of Elvis’s career.

The additional video is mainly focused on The British Elvis Presley Fan Club’s 1987 Memorial Tour of Tupelo, Mississippi and Memphis and gives a fine tour guide to those of who may not be lucky enough to make the trip themselves to these two important locations in the history of rock’n’roll. The video includes footage of the Presley’s home at the time of Elvis’s birth as well as an impromptu appearance by Ricky Nelson on the day of the Fan Club’s visit to the home.
