REVIEW: Stax Records is an American based in Memphis, Tennessee. Originally formed as Satellite Records in 1957 it changed it’s name to Stax Records in 1961. It was a major factor in the creation of Soul Music and Memphis Soul music, it also released Gospel, Funk and Blues recordings. This video tribute to Stax Records was filmed live at the Palais De Festivale Hall, Cannes, France in 1990 and features 31 tracks from seven of Stax Records top recording artists. Visually the quality is not optimum but very watchable and audio is very good.
