REVIEW: Ex-con Ernest “Stick” Stickley (Burt Reynolds) meets up with an old friend on his way home and bounces headlong into a drug deal gone wrong. With his friend dead, Stick hides out in a desperate attempt to elude the killers and rethink the terms of his tumultuous life.

Lying low he plays his cards right – and establishes a respectable career as a driver for a wealthy businessman, affording him a new perspective and quality time with his teenage daughter. Stick finds a new flame in Kylie (Candice Bergen) and is lulled into an otherwise false sense of security. But when a ruthless hitman sniffs him out it is only a matter of time before his past catches up with him.
