When tough guy O’Rourke (David Bradshaw) is arrested for cutting up a lady-friend, his wife Kitty (Liddy Clark) sets out on a fateful journey, taking ownership of the Top Hat nightclub, a raucous doorway to the criminal underworld. Aided along the way by her prostitute friend, Doris (Collette Mann) and an enigmatic crooked cop called The Bagman (John Stanton) Kitty establishes a formidable reputation not only as a woman on the make, but as a no-nonsense gangster ready to rival the notorious Big Lil Delaney (Val Lehman) for a piece of the action and control of the unsettled streets.
