Nicolas Cage is Jack singer, a second rate private eye who has managed to win the undying love of gorgeous school teacher, Betsy Nolan (Sarah Jessica Parker). Now after 5 years, Betsy wants a commitment, but Jack is plagued by his mother’s death-bed wish that he never marry. In an irrational moment, Jack relents and proposes a quick-fix, Vegas-style ceremony. With an Elvis Impersonators Convention in town, the marriage capital of the world is buzzing with “Viva Las Vegas” and Betsy couldn’t be more excited. Jack though, wants to play his last hand before giving his and gets suckered into a poker game with card-shark Tommy Korma (James Caan) and loses Betsy to him! It’s a hunk-a burnin’ fun when Jack puts on his blue suede shoes and races to save Betsy from a man who’s nothin’ but a hound dog in this riotous romantic comedy.
