TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK.   REVIEW: George Strait is one of modern country music’s leading performers and has been credited with  “saving” country music from the Nashville hierarchy whose main object today seems to be making as much money as they can from country music fans any which way they can including the promotion of some very dubious music they call “country music”. He became very unpopular with the Nashville hierarchy when he recorded “Murder On Music Row” with Alan Jackson (another country performer very much in the old country music style) where they criticized Nashville’s Music Row (where all the record companies and music publishing houses are based) for destroying country music. However, country music fans gave George and Alan the thumbs up and today they stand as two of the most popular country music artists not only in the USA, but, right around the world.   George Strait had become an institution at Houston’s Astrodome ever since he was called upon to replace an ailing Eddie Rabbit back in 1983. When it was decided to demolish The Astrodome and replace it with a more modern facility the management felt that it would be appropriate if George perform the final concert. Country music fans agreed and turned up in droves making the attendence at the final concert the biggest  for any event ever held there and to also bid a fitting farewell to the institution that was The Astrodome.
