WITH THE BURGEONING MUSIC SCENE OF MELBOURNE IN THE 1960S MANY BANDS FROM ALL AROUND AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND CALLED MELBOURNE HOME. ONE OF THE MAIN FLAGSHIPS FOR THE BANDS TO PROMOTE THEIR MUSIC WAS A SATURDAY MORNING TELEVISION SHOW CALLED “UPTIGHT”. MOST OF THE BANDS HAD ONLY ONE OR TWO SONGS TO THEIR NAME AND IN ORDER TP PRESENT FRESH MATERIAL FOR FUTURE TELEVISION APPEARANCES THE BANDS MADE THEIR WAY TO BEA STUDIOS TO RECORD AT VERY REASONABLE RATES. BEA CHIEF ENGINEER HAD THE FORESIGHT TO MAKE DUPLICATE TAPES OF A VAST NUMBER OF THE BANDS. MANY ARE PRESENTED HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME.
